Things to know about Industrial Scissor Lift

Industries need a reliable platform for material handling and lift them to maximum heights. They are widely used in warehouses, transport industries, mechanic shops, construction, food processing, and the chemical industry. NIHVA offers the optimum quality scissor lifts manufactured using advanced machinery and the latest technology. Our facility is reliable, safe, and provides long-term operations. They work on the principle of Pascal's law and are an ideal facility for vertical movement. Our facilities are widely acknowledged in the automation industry as they offer consistent ways and synchronize technological and industrial processes.

In this blog, we will discuss the different parts and types of scissor lifts.

Parts of Scissor Lift

1. Platform

It is the apex of the lift table where lifted items are placed. According to the model, they come in a variety of shapes and sizes. It is designed with rails used to transport humans and lifts without rails transport elements. They facilitate a steady surface for positioning goods.

2. Base

It is the lift's bottom part whose configuration depends on the model type. It supports the movement of the equipment both horizontally and vertically. Manufactured with rigid metal, they are integrated with tracks to oversee rollers at the base of the scissor legs.

3. Scissor Legs

The platform can adjust elevation using the scissor legs. They maintain the upward and downward movement of the lift using the crisscross metallic frames. When compressed they raise the platform and lower it during platform expansion. During the movement, a cylinder filled with hydraulic fluid is used, and during downward movement, pressure is discharged from the cylinder.

4. Power Source

The power source is determined by evaluating the energy required to power the lifting operation of the lift. The hydraulic pump in the scissor lift is powered through electricity, compressed air, hydraulic, and diesel to activate the lift table.

5. Down Valve

Used to regulate the flow of hydraulic fluid or compressed air by pushing it back to the source container. It is done to prevent the quick decline of the scissor lift. Activated using the power source and lowers the lift table.

Types of Scissor Lift

1. Hydraulic Scissor Lift

Such lifts are powered using compressed air or electric motor and used both indoor and outdoor. Functions when the liquid is transferred from one cylinder to another which allows the lift to move upwards and downwards. Ensure easy operation and is mostly used in construction sites and warehouses.

2. Electric Scissor Lift

Operate using an electric battery and are the most ideal type of scissor lift. Suitable for indoor use, they are compact, light-weighted, as they do not release loud noises or smoke. Possess contracted platforms to operate in strained areas. Have a power-driven mechanism, inhibits floor damage, and is environmentally friendly.

3. Pneumatic Scissor Lift

The lifting mechanism completely operates on air without the need for hydraulics or electrics. Require little or zero maintenance and it does not release hazardous gases into the environment. The environmentally friendly scissor lifts are a reliable choice to reduce the carbon footprint. Particularly used in food processing industries and warehouses.

4. Diesel Scissor Lift

Operate on diesel fuel and release smoke into the environment. They are not environment friendly and produce noise while functioning. NIHVA's scissor lifts are available with substantial platforms which make them operational for external areas. A greater aerial platform is possible due to massive designing features.

5. Rough Terrain Scissor Lift

Installed in outdoor areas and provide greater power for enhanced productivity. Powered by liquid propane, diesel, and gas. Integrated with an internal combustion engine and used in extensive construction sites. Come with a safety mechanism that makes them operational in extreme weather conditions, slopes, and rough surfaces.

Conclusion

While choosing the right material handling equipment, scissor lifts are most versatile and reasonable. Our facility offers a wide range of functionalities and comes in various shapes and sizes. Integrated with four panels consisting of four buttons: Main Switch, Platform Up, Platform Down, and Emergency Button. Also provided with fall arrestor and safety limit switches for occupational safety. They are operational for both indoor and outdoor environments. Better productivity and safety are encouraged with the right equipment. We are one of the prominent scissor lift manufacturers in India that empower operators to carry out the tasks quickly and with stability. Our engineers and technicians deliver and customize the facility as per the client's specifications.
